Right now I'm using MacOS 9.
OS 9, OS 9, lalalalala....
Don't ask me why they have OS 9 on the macs in this lab in the GSB, but they do.
So yes, for several hours a week for next couple of weeks I will be running subjects in the GSB! This is exciting because the GSB building itself is like the antithesis of the hospital building. The hospital is the most poorly laid-out, pieced together, dysfunctional, depressing building ever. And I guess the GSB is confusingly laid out too, but it's so much prettier and nicer, and was all built at the same time.
Anyways, yes, OS 9. Very quaint.

they were built at the same time? which buildings are you talking about? I can't think of any that were...

I had my "huh?" moment, too, but I believe the reference is to the new GSB where they tore down Woodward. The old GSB buildings are all full of PSAC and the English department now.

I figured it was the new GSB, but aren't all the hospital buildings older than that?

Yes, exactly.

The hospital is the most poorly laid-out, pieced together, dysfunctional, depressing building ever. And I guess the GSB is confusingly laid out too, but it's so much prettier and nicer, and was all built at the same time.

I parse this to mean:

-hospital is many nasty, old buildings with a hideous layout due to its random-ass connection of aforementioned nasty old buildings

-new GSB has stupid layout, but it's better than the hospital because it's shinier and was put together all at once

Yes! You are very correct. I am glad you understood what I was trying to get through my lack of eloquence. Excellent parsing skills!

Bleh, I was not being very eloquent just then. I meant that the hospital was built in pieces, like one section was built, then several years later another wing was added on, etc. But the GSB was built all in one go.

Did anyone ever tell you you look kinda like David Letterman?

hahahahahaha.
no, I haven't heard that.
cataplum once compared me to carson daly, however.

The resemblance was better on my projector at home

he compared you to carson daly.... in terms of looks? I don't think you look anything like carson daly....

Yeah, I think I'd be awfully surprised if he meant looks

well, I had said

cowperthwait : Conan O'Brien :: cataplum : David Letterman

and he simply extended it

:: slartucker : Carson Daly

I imagine it was simply a "what the hell talk show host looks and acts remotely like tucker in an absurd sort of comparison" scenario.

I will admit it doesn't work as well as the

rksdf : Martha Stewart :: slartucker : Paris Hilton

analogy.
